We got the rest of our wedding pictures a few days ago and I thought I'd post my favorites...

This past week...
This past week had its ups and downs.
It started off with the stupid dryer not drying our clothes all the way.
So we had to get a little creative.
Later on in the week we went to Applebees
with some friends of ours, Ben and Whitney Szabo.
We like going there after 9 because you get half off drinks and appetizers.
Ben and I used to call it "getting fake drunk" back in the day.
Good times.
Jason and I both got our favorite, and introduced it to Whitney:
TRIPLE CHOCOLATE MELTDOWN!
It was awesome. We also got to talk to them about how they like their jobs because we're REALLY wanting to get out of this early morning custodian gig. Its taking its toll.
We talked a lot about it with them and decided that we'd go apply where they work.
Thursday afternoon Jason and I ran literally, across the street, and applied to work at the "Homestead assisted living facility." Basically its an old-folks home, but anything is better than working as a janitor at 4am!
We're waiting to hear back from them, hopefully it works out.
The weekend finally came, and that was the best part!!
Alyssa came to visit us! Her birthday was last Saturday so we made her a birthday cake.
For the rest of the weekend we played the wii, had some craigo's pizza, went shopping at D.I (where we bough Apollo 13 on VHS for $3!) and decorated cupcakes!
Decorating cupcakes is like our thing. We did that last halloween when Alyssa and I were roommates. Here's how they turned out:
We had fun doing that, and then we played this awesome game call "Racko," for like a million years while we watched Apollo 13. That game is awesome, you should all go buy it.
Now its a start of another week. I hope this week goes by as fast as the last one.

My Life is Average
So I don't know how many of you are familiar with the website mylifeisaverage.com but I love it! Its been awhile since I've been on it, but I'm hooked all over again. Basically, its a site where people post random stories about funny things that either happen to them, they see, or hear about. Its a pretty awesome way to waste time when you're bored.
Here are my favorite posts from today:
"Today, I read a warning on my blanket that said "not to be used as protection from a tornado." Well there goes plan A."
"Today I found an old spelling test of mine from first grade. I was pretty impressed that I got all the answers right until I looked at the final word, which was supposed to be suitcase. I misspelled it "sh**case". I wonder what my teacher must've thought when she graded it."
"In math class I was bored so I started messing around and typed 'hello Harry Potter my name is Tom Riddle.' I got distracted after that and the girl next to me asked to borrow my calculater. She turned it on, read that message, and screamed."
"The other day in class we got some ceramic piggy banks to paint. I painted mine all black with white eyes and said it was a raccoon pig but everyone kept saying "hey, nice ninja pig!" I accepted this as a suitable substitution."
"Today, during physics, we were discussing which superhero was the best. Most said either Batman or Superman. I said Iron Man, because the suit is so cool. Someone at the back of the room disagreed. His reasoning? Iron Man wasn't real. It took a few minutes before he realized why we were all laughing so hard."
They could go on forever...but I really should get started with my homework!!

Shout out to Jason's mom
So I totally forgot to mention Jason's mom on mothers day. She's one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met, and has made me feel right at home. She'll randomly give me hugs and say: "I'm so glad you're part of our family."
I just asked Jason what he likes most about his mom and he answered: "...that she's funny and she loves me."

For my mom...
A year ago today I was asked to give a talk in church about my mom. That was the easiest talk I've ever written in my entire life...seriously!! I decided to talk about not only my mom, but the other amazing women in my family who helped my mom become so amazing. I talked about my Grandmother, Marlene Larkin, as well as my
Great-Grandmother Leona Kemper.
It was very emotional writing this talk because I have a very soft spot in my heart for these 3 women. I was able to spend just a short time with My Great-Grandmother because she died when I was about 6 I think, but her example has stuck with me.
Here's some stuff from my talk about her:
"What I do remember though, is hearing stories all throughout my life of the many trials she had to overcome. Some of these trials included her home being struck my lightening, then burning to the ground just after the repairs from the lightening strike were complete, losing a set of twins to premature childbirth, and then a few years later losing her husband in an automobile accident."
Even though she experienced all of these trials, she never let it stop her from pressing forward. She taught her children the value of an education, hard work,
and what it means to be a family.
She was such an amazing women, its no wonder her daughter,
My Grandmother, is equally special.
"My Mom’s mom, we’ll call her Grandma Larkin, was truly supermom. My mom is 1 of 7 kids. I just have to share with you the years that the children in her family were born, it blew me away. My grandma gave birth to her first child in 1957, and then continued to also have children in 1958, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1963, and 1967. And to make things even more stressful, my grandpa was called to be the bishop in their ward in Napa, California when my Grandma was expecting that last child. She had to corral 7 kids all under the age of ten all by herself."
Grandma Larkin was the perfect example of perfection. She was patient, loving, kind, and very hard working. She taught the things her mother taught her. My mom learned the value of hard work, how to serve the family as well as others, and how to faithfully
serve in church callings.
"Although I only got to be with my grandparents for short while, I’ve been blessed with a truly amazing mother who has been teaching me all my life the same things her parents taught her. She’s done the usual things like teach me how to cook and clean which I am grateful for, but I’m mostly grateful for the things she has taught that I’ll be able to share with my kids someday. She’s such a good example of patience, and I know she learned that from her mom. She’s an amazing cook, which she learned from her mom. She can sew pretty much anything, which I know she learned from her mom, who learned it from her mom. I’m grateful that I’ve been taught those same things that will help me SO much when I become a mother someday. "
Lets hope my sisters and I can carry on the amazing legacy of the women in our family.
I love you Mom!
Happy Mothers Day!

First Haircut!
I cut Jason's hair for the first time a few days ago! It was pretty scary, but I did it!
Jason can't stand all the itchy hair everywhere so he got creative.
Ghetto...but it worked =)

Almost all done decorating!
Here's some "before" shots...
Here it is!! (Minus a few pictures in the frames)
Jason has been such a trooper. Those book shelves were tricky.
But not as tricky as hanging these little buggars!
Our DVD/Game stash. Thats one good thing about getting married.
You movie collection doubles! =)
Check out all Jason's game systems...NERD!
I inherited an Xbox, Nintendo 64, and ps2. We bought the wii together after this past
christmas with gift cards.
I found a good place for our honeymoon micky ears. =)
Our lovely wedding present from Eryka goes perfectly. =)
Jason's parents gave us a leather couch they didn't want anymore.
We both HATE sitting on sticky leather couches so we bought a cover.
Here's a view into our kitchen...and our random cork boards...and my husband
walking into my shot.
(ps...that counter has since been cleaned off. That will be one of my OCD tendencies...I can tell)
Ok, so our bathroom is really hard to get a picture of because it isn't that big. So here you go...
Our duck themed bathroom looks dang cute. =)
Since there is ZERO counter space in our bathroom we bought this cabinet thing for
all of my makeup/appiances/hair products that wouldn't fit in the medicine cabinet.
So thats about it. Our bedroom isn't finished yet. There's even a few boxes still...AHH!
I have to compliment Jason on his "assembling" skills. Since we moved in he's put together:
-a tv cart
-2 book shelves
-one of those shower shelves that sticks
between the ceiling and the tub
-the bathroom cabinet
and
-a vaccum (werid, but true)
And he hasn't complained once. Thats why I love him. =)
I'll post more later. Goodnight all!
