Our Week in Utah

So we spent last week visiting family in Utah and I thought I'd share our adventures with you all...

Sunday: we left Rexburg around noon, and drove down to Jason's parents house in Cedar Hills. We helped cook dinner, played some "blokus" (a super fun game!),
did laundry and went to sleep.

Monday: I knew no one would be up before noon so I decided to go visit my sister Nellie in Provo around ten. It was just us girls hanging out for a bit, so naturally we tried on shoes...
After hanging out some more, I drove back to Cedar Hills and a few hours later Jason's sister Heather flew in from CA (the main reason for our trip to Utah since we haven't seen her since August) so we had another family dinner and game night to catch up some more.

Tuesday: I awoke to a freaking blizzard outside which totally sucked, but I had plans in Provo so I used my Idaho driving skills and made it there safely. Suzanne, Nellie, Evie, and I went out do lunch during Suz's hour break and had some DELICIOUS food courtesy of Burger Supreme...SOOO GOOD! Then we dropped Suz back off at work, much to Evie's dismay (she loves her Aunties!) and we went shopping at WalMart. This trip was quite uneventful until Evie noticed the bathrooms and decided that she "had to go!" And she acutally went! WOO! After that I drove back home to Cedar Hills and picked up Jason for dinner with my side of the family and we went to a delicious Chinese food buffet in Orem. We were there for awhile and thus these pictures came to be...

(in that last picture at the bottom, you'll  notice that Evie started eating the cone before she was done with the ice cream...that didn't end well! lol)

Wednesday: This day was pretty low key, everyone woke up late as usual and we just poked around the house until I couldn't take it anymore and suggested we get Chic Fila for lunch. So Jason, Heather, Cindy, and I went out to lunch and on the way back we stopped at this AMAZING antique store in American Fork. We spent 2 hours there! (Typical for Jason's mom) It was such an interesting place! There were so many cool old fashion things, it made me excited for when I have a house of my own to decorate someday! (sigh)

After that we went home, Jason and I played "life" because he was bored and then when the whole family was home we all watched "Despicable Me" while we ate dinner. Then after the kiddies went to be we watched the movie "New in Town." HILARIOUS!! It may seem like a chick flick, but the boys enjoyed it too!

Thursday:  OMG, what a day! I woke up at 7 so I could meet Nellie at the American Fork Old Navy by 8, because she needed me to watch Evie. I picked her up and drove back to the Henderson's house where she played with their puppy Toby for like 3 hours. There's video of that on my facebook too, SO FUNNY!! She wasn't scared of him at all, even though he's a VERY hyper dog. After a fun morning with Evie we met her Mom and Dad at Chic Fila (yes, we ate there two days in a row...don't judge.) for lunch. After that Jason went back home and I met up with an old roommate and good friend who lives near there. It was so much fun chatting with Ashley!! We sure had some good times...the evidence is also on my facebook. =)  After that Jason's family decided to go bowling. We had fun doing that and then went to Cafe Rio for dinner! YUM! When we got home we finished the day
out by watching Toy Story 3.

Friday: After a crazy week, we packed up and headed home....of course we made a quick stop at the American Fork In-n-Out along the way.

whew!

And we were greeted not by snow, but this sight when we looked out our bedroom window...

I guess thats what happens when your 10-day forecast doesn't include any numbers higher than 25 degrees...

Before they were famous...

So I was watching Dan in Real Life the other day and I realized something...the cop who stops him all those times is Mr. Shue from GLEE!! I was like WHAT?!
And then I was watching You've Got Mail, and that scene were Meg Ryan is in the super market the lady who checks her out is Dr. Torrez from Grey's Anatomy! This is not surprising to me because Grey's stars are EVERYWHERE in older movies. Alex is in The Wedding Planner as the annoying Italian guy, and Meridith is in Catch me if you can as a flight attendant! Random I know.
And did you know Matthew Mcconaughey plays that ditzy outfielder in Angels in the Outfield? I just looked it up on IMDB.com and that was only the 4th movie he ever made!
Jason always laughs at me because I have this weird ability to recognize people from movies and tv shows and go "They were in (insert movie/show here)" and he has no idea what I'm talking about. Oh well, I just watch too much tv I guess.  =)

Highlights of 2010...

Now that we're finally settled back at home after being gone for almost 2 weeks, I can finally get back to blogging! Sadly, my laptop is dead and I have to use Jason's for the next few months but I'll survive.

2010 was a very good year. I was telling Jason that if only I had graduated from college in 2010 it would have no doubt been the perfect year...oh well.

highlights from this year include:
-Getting married to my best friend and love of my life
-Disneyland!!
-Receiving so much support from family and friends at our reception and open house in Utah
-Starting to take actually "teacher" classes at school, and getting to teach in a first grade class.
-Buying a second car, that I have yet to drive. (its a stick)
-Learning that my niece Evie thinks my name is Jason...this is serious!
-Rafting down the Snake River with Jason's family...major fear conquered.
-Jason got a new job working at Wal-Mart as a cashier
-YEARS and YEARS of being a Giants fan finally paid off, and my team won the World Series!!!!
-Cooking a whole turkey with Jason for Thanksgiving, and it was tasty!
-Opening Christmas presents with Jason 4 days early because we're that sad.
What a year! =)
