Trip to Utah

We spent the last week in Utah visiting our families! We finished up finals on Thursday and then headed down South for a much deserved vacation.

The fun included:

-Going with Evie to see Winnie the Pooh
-Watching the Pioneer Day Parade in Bountiful
-Spending girl time with my sisters & niece
-Having a family BBQ with My family and Jason's in Cedar Hills
-Shooting off fireworks after the BBQ. (That was an adventure! The last 2 decided to BLOW up instead of sparkle!)
-Going on a picnic in the National park 5 minutes from Jason's parents house.
-Having dinner with my BFF and her husband.
-And of course eating In-n-Out and Chic Fila Several times. =)

Some of my favorite pics from the trip:

Next Up: Giants Game, Family Reunion, and DISNEYLAND!!
Bring it on!

Today's Freak Out Moment

Today's freak out moment is brought to you by BYU-Idaho. Thank you for switching the teacher of my math class in the fall. I'm so glad I went to all the trouble of looking up each professor to make sure they aren't terrible only to have you change it after I registered and give me a teacher I've been trying to avoid for the past 3 years.
Awesome.

Grandparents

I was blessed with 2 sets of AMAZING grandparents.
Unfourtunately, they all passed away before I turned 8 and
I've always felt a little cheated.

I was very excited to inherit 2 grandpa's and a grandma
when I got married!
They are all so sweet and welcomed me into
the family instantly.

Jason's grandma is always sending us home with canned Jam
and treats like banana bread whenever we come to visit.

Well Jason's sister, mom, and grandma stopped by for a
short visit yesterday and once again brought us
some jam and treats.

I was even more surprised to see what Grandma brought...
this baby quilt!!
Apparently this was made by Jason's great aunts.
Its so cute, and she said she had another one for me at home.
The 3 bears are so cute!
I love their outfits.
This is the back.
They're little ducks, and it says "quack quack" all over.

You think someone wants some great-grandkids? lol
Just kidding. She's not like that.
She's just really generous. I mentioned that I wanted to
start sewing again, but needed to get my own machine.
She then promptly said I could have one of hers because she has 3! lol

So when we're in Utah next weekend she said I can pick it up.
Wow! Thats going to be awesome.

I'm so grateful for my new family, especially my new grandparents!

Birthday Boy!

Thursday was Jason's birthday! He had to work 3:30-11 that day so we celebrated a day early since he had wednesday off.

We headed to Idaho Falls and had dinner at
Texas Roadhouse....YUM!
Then we went to the movies to see Transformers 3.

We were quite surprised to see someone
famous walk in to our theater.
If any of you watch the biggest loser,
you would know who Moses is.

He walked in, and Jason goes, "Look to your right!" And so I did. I looked to the right, made DIRECT eye contact with Moses, and before I could contain myself my jaw literally dropped and I gasped.

I felt like such a dork because he was looking right at me! lol
This is what Moses looks like:

and this is the picture I got in the theater:

I was too chicken to get a picture with him after the movie.

Anyways....on Jason's actual birthday
we did presents in between classes:

I swear my husband can never take a normal picture!

Then I baked Jason's cake while he was at work:

My momma taught me well. =)
Homemade cakes are the best...
especially with frosting made from scratch.

Then when Jason had his dinner break, we got to eat it!

I'm really glad he was born =)

Our 4th

Today Jason and I were joking that the 4th of July chewed us up and spit us back out. To understand this, you need to know that the 2 of us got BURNT yesterday...like REALLY burnt.

We started the day off by sleeping in and then heading to the parade that was going on just down the street. That was fun, except even though it was only 10:30 it was 90 degrees. We sat in the sun and ate hot dogs for breakfast...very American. =)

The parade was so fun! I love living in a small town because
everyone comes out for things like this.

Even Darth Vader showed up.

And there was this CUTE little girl dressed like a Jedi!
It melted my heart.

After the parade, we walked back home and got ready to swim at the new water park.
We were there for about an hour and then we headed to Idaho Falls for fireworks.

We camped out for awhile because apparently they are a big deal.
We had fun, but I don't know if waiting for 6 hours is worth it.

By the time we got home it was OBVIOUS that we got
toasted in the sun.
From now on this white girl is going to bathe in sunscreen!

July!

I couldn't be more excited for July! There's only 2.5 weeks of school left, and then we get to have some fun. The nice weather is making me very stir crazy! It sucks going to school when everyone else is out.
Anyways, I hope everyone has a great weekend. We plan on sleeping in, heading to the swim park, and then we're watching the biggest fireworks display West of the Mississippi. So excited!! Pictures to follow. =)

Here's my latest crafting adventure, So easy!
