Yesterday I watched Million Dollar Baby for the first time, and I was so mad!!! No one ever told me that movie had a sad ending! I was sitting there thinking I was going to see a nice movie that would end happy like Cinderella Man....but NOOOOOO.
I really hate when I waste 2 hours of my life watching movies with crappy endings. I like to laugh and get goosebumps from good movies, and that sure didn't happen yesterday.
So if you're like me, here's a list of movies that you should avoid:
-Pearl Harbor and Titanic. (We already know the outcome, but they have to go and make it more sad by making up fake love stories that don't end well)
-Becoming Jane (I should have googled her to make sure she got married before I watched this movie...but I didn't, and I was so mad, I stayed up till 2 am so I could watch Pride and Prejudice and be happy again.)
-Friday Night Lights (Sports movie....AAAAAAND they lose in the end. Boo!)
-Valkerie (Tom Cruise should have been my first clue...but this movie is about Nazis and they end up killing all the good guys in the end because they tried to kill Hitler...doesn't get more depressing than that.)
If you're in need of a feel-good movie here are some recommendations:
-The Blind Side
-Apollo 13
-27 Dresses
-You've Got Mail
-Despicable me
....Just to name a few.

Here comes the sun...annnnd there it went.
So last week was wonderful! The sun was out, and to those of us who have become desensitized to what is considered warm, 40 degrees never felt so good!! =)
You may remember the pictures I posted a while ago showing the ice-icles that had formed outside our bedroom window. Well, I was so sad to see that they had fallen down when I looked out the window Friday morning. It was fun to watch them get CRAZY long, I mean they were like at least 5 feet long, no joke, but I thought to myself at least its getting warmer!
Then.................Saturday happened. It started snowing mid-afternoon, and then proceeded to not stop until mid-afternoon on Sunday.
BOOOOO!!!
I was totally getting annoyed with the fact that I could actually see lines in parking lots. (not.)
But I digress...
The whole point of this post is to let you know that my ice-icle friends have returned!! =)
Can you tell that its a bit windy...?

Jason laughes at me for getting so excited about these things.
With the wind outside, it is getting dang cold!! I can't wait for our trip to CA for Eryka's wedding...
I look at this rose Jason got me for Valentines Day and keep crossing my fingers that someday spring will come!

Oh the irony...
So for Valentines Day Jason and I debated for a LONG while about whether or not we should go out to dinner. Money is EXTREMELY tight right now and we were doing the math and the odds didn't look good. But eventually we decided that it would be ok to go to Applebees if we kept it around 20 bucks.
So we get there, and as I went thru the menu I didn't even bother reading, I just scanned the prices for things that weren't more than 10 bucks. So eventually Jason decided on the cowboy burger that was $8 and I decided on a small steak that was $10.
It was so funny because our waitress asked Jason if he wanted to sub his fries for onion rings, and we both were like "ooooh that sounds good!" and then when she said it would cost $1 extra we said "oh, nevermind."
After a long wait (they were VERY busy) our food finally came and I inhaled my mashed potatoes. Then as I moved on to the steak I discovered...........A HAIR ON MY PLATE!! It was totally gross. I'm glad it didn't look like it was mine because I think our waitress got the vibe from us that we were incredibly cheap.
So after not wanting to spend an extra dollar on onion rings, we ended up getting my food for free and I got another helping of mashed potatoes!! We couldn't stop laughing about that for the rest of the night.
Pay your tithing. The Church is true! =)

V-day
Happy Valentines Day! I love any holiday that involves chocolate, so today is a great day! =) We started celebrating early and made some cookies this weekend...they're all gone now.
We don't have a lot of money this year to spend on crazy gifts so we just did this...
I got Jason some cupcakes from a store here in town. There's raspberry cheesecake, oreo, and brownie. He was very happy. Jason got me some of my favorite treats. I LOVE dove milk chocolate!!! =)
Valentines day is even more special for us because we started dating right after Valentines day in 2009, so we kind of look at it as an anniversary too. Here's a video I made awhile ago that starts off with the surprise I woke up to that first valentines day. =)
I'm so lucky that I have Jason for eternity. He's such a sweet, caring, patient person and makes me laugh every day. =)

Dear Idahoans...
-if you don't know how to park a big truck, don't drive one.
-now that the ice is melting, you have no excuse not to park inside the lines.
-everyone knows you're not supposed to drive in fog with your brights on, so why do you?
-thank you for making potatoes so cheap.
-why do you leave mounds of snow in the most inconvenient places?
-recycling isn't that hard. California can do it with a population ten times your size, come on!
Just had to get that out of my system. Living here is definitely a challenge.

Quotes
So I was watching TV today and I saw a commercial that used this quote about faith from Martin Luther King Jr. and I really liked it:
"Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase."
I love that! Here's a few other inspirational quotes from Dr. King that I really like too:
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
"A man who won't die for something is not fit to live."
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
"Those who are not looking for happiness are the most likely to find it, because those who are searching forget that the surest way to be happy is to seek happiness for others."
"the time is always right to do the right thing"
I loved reading through all of these quotes and I still can't believe how incredible this man was! Truly inspirational.

Super Bowl!!
In true Farmer fashion, Jason and I had a Super Bowl party yesterday. Since this is the first time being away from home, it actually made me a little homesick so we made most of the foods my mom usually does and invited some friends over. It was great, and the team I rooted for won! Go Packers!
I made these yummy cookies to celebrate the occasion. (It helped that the Packers logo is so easy!)
My favorite part of Super Bowl Sunday is of course the commercials! Its so funny, because I don't really like sitting for very long and I always forget that you're not supposed to get up and go do things during those commercials! Here's one of my favorites from yesterday:

My feelings about snow...
I was watching this episode of Gilmore Girls yesterday and they were talking about snow, and I could totally relate to this rant about snow...SO FUNNY!
My favorite quote:
"Snow is nothing but annoying icy frozen water stuff that falls out of the sky at inconvenient times. Its mother natures icy 'screw you'!"
I can't tell you how many mornings I wake up, see my car covered in snow and think very similar thoughts.
How long till summer...?

What its all about
I read this quote from Giants closer Brian Wilson in a Sports Illustrated article and thought I'd share it with you all. It describes perfectly what its like to win the world series:
"You're 12 years old. Everything is great. It's Friday. The school bell just rang. You have no responsibilities. You get to have a sleepover. All you want to do is jump up and down and scream. You know that feeling? Now make it times a billion. That's winning the World Series."

I think he puts it pretty well.
4 months later, and it still feels good to be a Giants fan. =)

my secret (or not so secret) shames...
Ok, so last night I was snacking on chocolate chips and Jason was making fun of me like always. I can't help it!! When I crave chocolate, the chocolate chips are RIGHT there. I've been snacking on them literally most of my life. This got me thinking of my other secret shames...
-TV Shows: Real Desperate Housewives of Beverley Hills, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, E! News, and Fashion Police.
-Music: yes I have several Miley Cyrus songs and I listen to them often, along with BSB and Nsync.
-Bringing "treats" to church to stay awake in Sunday school
-In the past week not waking up before 10:30 (hey its my "summer vacation," don't judge.)
-Playing Tetris on the '64 for LONG periods of time daily.
-Checking the things I'm selling on ebay like every hour to see if the bid's gone up
-FOOD NETWORK!
-I LOVE sports movies because they always give me goosebumps at the end.
-I eat left-overs for breakfast 90% of the time. (my family would not be surprised...thats why they sent me off to college with vitamins!)
-I HATE milk, and probably haven't had a glass in at least 6 months.
-I bought a subscription to OK magazine because it was only $5, and I read it cover to cover!
I'm sure there's more I'm not thinking of, but thats it for now!
