Family Fun

Last week was SUPER fun! So much fun, I get tired just thinking about it. Tuesday afternoon I said goodbye to Jason and drove down to Provo. I met up with my sisters and we began our trek to California.

We drove halfway and stayed the night in Elko, and then drove the rest of the way to Sierraville, CA where our family reunion was.

We stayed there Wednesday-Saturday and had LOTS of fun with family. We played lots of games, celebrated Evie & cousin Josh's birthdays, ate lots of yummy food, and celebrated our family heritage.

Highlights for me were:

-Teaching lots of the cousins how to play my favorite game, Monopoly Deal.

-Doing Evie's hair on her birthday (using a sock-bun) and having her look like a little princess.

-Watching the more adventurous cousins/aunts/uncles jump off the zip line.

-Giving Dad his father's day present.

-Sleeping on my 18-inch tall air mattress...it was heavenly!

-Watching Evie smack the heck out of her "pee-yah-tah" and then watching all the cousins revert back to age 5 and SWARM.

-And of course, seeing lots of family that I haven't seen in FOREVER!

Weekend Happenings...

Huzzah! I have a new laptop, and now I'm back to blogging...sort of. School is over halfway done, and I'm exhausted from working from 4-7am. We'll see how often I can get on here.

Our weekend was pretty chill, but fun!

Friday: I had school, Jason had work, but once we were both done we headed to Sammy's for dinner! That place is really delicious, I could eat an entire plate of their fries. After dinner we did some shopping, and then played some Mario Party 7.

Saturday: I had to work, but at least I got to sleep afterwards. For "lunch" at 11am we decided to order some Domino's pizza. Seriously, that place is SUPER good. Jason headed to work at 3 and I worked on homework for the rest of the day.

Sunday: I spent the day getting homework done and getting things ready for my family reunion thats coming up. Jason can't make it because of work, and I'm driving out to CA with my sisters and niece. I'm super excited for a girls road trip!

Since we'll be out in the wilderness, I will be MIA from all forms of technology. I'll be sure to write about my adventures later...

DI finds...

A few weeks ago I went to DI and found some sweet picture frames. I had seen a few blog posts about painting over frames and I wanted to try it. 

I found this, and thought it had potential:

So I got to work...

First I had to paint over the cork-board because it wasn't removable

Then I got painting:

Replaced the floral picture with this cute paper:

The finished product:

After thinking hard about what I could use this for, I had a brilliant idea! I decided that I wanted to use this board for Jason and I to put love notes on.

I was inspired by those frames on Pinterest that say "I love you because______"

Hence the stickers:

This will be fun, especially on days when we don't see each other very much because of work and school.
