When it rains, it pours...

As I sit here on the verge of a pregnancy-hormone induced freak out, just humor me as I vent.

I've been really lucky to have a very "pregnancy symptom-free" pregnancy. I haven't bragged about it or anything, I just considered myself lucky. That is, until I hit 38 weeks and my body (and possibly unborn child) decided that it hates me.

My belly has now decided that it wants to itch like CRAZY, my sciatic nerve is causing me to hobble around like an 80 year old, and some other less flattering things are going on that would fall majorly into the "TMI" category.

I also found out that I was never really dilated to a 3, the nurse who told me that (My doctor was out of town) two weeks ago was apparently on crack. Imagine my joy when my doctor tells me this past week that I'm still at a two.
Just what I wanted to hear...

For those of you who saw this past week's Modern Family, I can totally relate to Gloria when she looks down at her pregnant belly and yells:
"GET OUUUUUUUTT!"

And on top of my body falling apart, my phone has decided to quit on my, right on the verge of our child coming into this world. Yeah, I won't be needing to call anyone in the near future right? BOO!

Hoping we can work something out, and it'll probably involve me using my mother-in-law's old phone thats from like 2006...

Hey, well at least the snow is melting.

Our friend Tigger...

Right after I found out I was pregnant, Jason spotted this cute stuffed Tigger in the baby section at Wal-Mart. He fell in love with it and wanted to buy it right away. I told him we should wait until we move to Utah so that we'd have one less thing to pack.

Well, we moved to Utah and guess what happened...Tigger vanished! We couldn't find him anywhere, even after checking every store.

When Christmas came, we went to visit with family and Jason's cousin's son had the exact same Tigger! We told them the story about how we really wanted one for Marlene and Jason's awesome cousin Michelle ended up having an extra Tigger stashed away that she gave to us as a shower gift last week.

Well, since then Jason and I have had a little too much "free time" on our hands and started playing a game with our friend Tigger. Its kind of like "elf on the shelf," but with the Tigger doll instead.

It all started when Jason put him in the crib,
and then the games began...
(My favorite is when Tigger tried on Marlene's "coming home" outfit.)

I love that I married someone who is just as silly as I am. We are both VERY easily amused, and that is why we're in love.

Questions...

Ok, I have some questions for you mama's out there.
You can respond on here, or a Facebook comment/message if you want.
Any input would be appreciated!

What were your "must haves" for your hospital bag?

What brands of diapers/wipes should we avoid?
(We'd like to go cheap, but not get poor quality)

Any products you found didn't live up to the hype?

Any products you just LOVE and think
every mom needs?

Projects. Parties, and Pregnancy

So far we've hit the ground running in 2013!

My goal of finishing the baby quilt before the new year failed miserably, but at least I'm making progress. If I could go back in time, I probably wouldn't have chosen such an insane project for my first quilt.

Even though its been hard, I know I'll be grateful when I see the finished product. (Whenever that happens!) All I have left to do is sew all the rows together, add a ruffle, and the back.

In other news, this Saturday my two awesome sisters threw me one amazing baby shower. It was "Owl Themed" and they made everything SUPER cute.

It was such a fun day and the food was DELICIOUS!! I'm so grateful to everyone who came,
despite the stupid snow.

Now for a pregnancy update. Tomorrow I hit 37 weeks and that makes my baby "full term!" Crazy how time flies. Now I spend my days trying to get everything organized and ready.

The fact that the baby could literally come any day now is a bit scary, because we are SO not ready! As long as she waits out this week we'll be fine. We have a breastfeeding class Tuesday night, our car seat/stroller combo is supposed to come in the mail Thursday, and an all-day birthing class to go to on Saturday!

At my appointment last week I found out that I'm dilated to a 2, but that could last for weeks. I have another appointment Wednesday so we'll see if there's been any change. Other than that, and the new development of swollen ankles, things are pretty much the same around here.

Now we wait...
