First off, I hope I am not jinxing myself with this post.
I don't know what happened, but when Marlene turned 6 weeks old some switch flipped inside of her and she decided that she was going to start sleeping in her crib and start following some sort of a routine. Its kind of awesome, because now no one has to
sleep on the couch!
It all started when I realized how much Marlene likes noise. She would fall asleep on my lap when my in-laws were vacuuming, or literally start falling asleep the minute the blender was turned on. So it was then that I realized she would probably really like our bathroom fan.
Because it is SOOOOO loud, I always avoided turning the fan on around Marlene because I thought she would be afraid of it. WRONG!
Now our naptime routine consists of swaddling, standing in the pitch-black bathroom with the fan on, Marlene falling asleep within 5 minutes or less, then me sitting in the rocking chair for a few minutes to make sure she's really "out."
So far so good. It feels amazing to finally feel like I'm figuring this kid out. Aside from her possibly going through a growth spurt and seeming starving ALL the time, she's doing great and is such a sweetheart!
